Antonio -- surely on his way out

...isnt he? All that crap last week on his podcast, then after the game, while everyone was celbrating with the cup and fans, hes' playing roly-poly in the centre circle with his kids likes its a family fun day for the dog & duck second 11 . Disrepectful and shows again a wierd side of his character

So- he's off for a "final" pay day, the Ings experimaent is a costly failure and who knows where scammacca will end up

A complete new front line next season then ;-))

Someone on here mentioned they'd heard he was getting divorced which was why he was flying solo on the walk around the pitch after the last home game.

Might be bollocks but someone I know who reckons he knows someone who knows someone reckons the divorce is because he has managed to get two women pregnant.
Neither of whom are Mrs Antonio
So it seems he needs a cash lump sum from a signing on fee

Tricky one. he's so key to the way we play. On one hand it would be a huge blow to lose him because frankly no-one else can play that role. Ings can't and Scamacca seemingly, rightly, wont. TBH unless we buy an Antonio clone, I'd like to give Mubama a good go. He can't just step into leading the line but give him some good minutes. He's got the attributes to play that role.

On the other hand, saying goodbye to Antonio may just force Moyes' hand to shake off this style of play, although I strongly doubt it,
It does look now like he's going to stay unless a job offer comes in.

we need a whole new system if Antonio goes. We haven't really found a striker that can play in the Antonio role - some decent strikers yes, but pretty much useless in our set up. But we better had give that some thought if Antonio is off.

That ball from Paqueta for our second goal in the final is what decent strikers thrive on, but those are too few and far between at the moment.

i didn't have a huge issue him spending time with his kids, but he was noticeably peripheral to most of the celebrations compared to someone like - for example - Kehrer, who is clearly a very popular member of the group.

No great surprise given his behaviour, his absolutely toilet performance again (i'm sure he would have been far more visible if HE had scored the winner), and the fact that he is a bit of a bellend generally.

But then, I thought the winning goal was the perfect example of what a world without antonio looks like. You have a striker - and Scamacca can do this if he is stlll here - that makes runs that pull the opposition central defenders away, and then the two wide men make those runs in behind. At that point, Benrahma becomes more of an issue in the sense that he's very much a winger rather than an inside forward.

Agree Stewie, and I think that’s where Harvey Barnes would fit the bill. A left sided goal scoring forward who has many similarities to Bowen but on the opposite side.

Antonio was dreadful despite the commentators banging on about how he ran himself into the ground. I really hope he does go.

I think we already have (enough) decent strikers at the club.

It's how they are used is the issue - hopefully Bowen's winner will help our eternal manager to see the way forward in a post-Antonio world.

Is it best for everyone if Antonio leaves probably. Will force Moyes to change tact and not rely on hoof it too the big man. Gives Antonio a final pay day.

been a excellent signing for us as a club and has been very good for him. Got a medal got an England call up scored a lot of crucial and important goals

And won me a fair amount of cash in score cast markets. I will particularly fondly remember the Antonio Winner against spurs in April of 2019

I've heard many rumours about his alleged affairs. A friend of a friend claimed to know a young lady who had slept with him in Dubai.

Not a good look. I'm not a fan of him chatting a load of shit on podcasts every week either. Time to get rid.

Character wise seems to have changed drastically since he got his podcast going.

Smacks of a player that knows his career is close to its end in terms of seasons left in the top flight as those legs aren't getting any younger, prepping himself to get into media and punditry work by the looks of it.
